The partnership between D1 and The Edge has led to an entirely new concept in year round football training and conditioning for the student athlete. A 65 yard by 40 yard field turf surface, professional trainers and coaches with experience from high school through the pros and an organization dedicated to providing a great experience and helping any youth or high school player the opportunity to get the most out of their football career.

The concept goes beyond just organizing combines and assessments. Year round skills training and conditioning is matched with unlimited recruiting consultation designed to provide the student athlete with the best knowledge available to them when choosing a college they want to attend. Camps and clinics dedicated to the youth football players have also been formed.



Players can take added advantage of the area's finest indoor football training center. Kickers will have ample opportunity to stay sharp in the off season. All players will have the chance to take advantage of the speed and strength sessions held throughout the week at The Edge.

You can attend the combine merry-go-round that promises to solicit your information to thousands of colleges nationwide or you can have a personal touch in selecting the college that's right for you with our unique approach to "target marketing." This isn't a one shot deal. This isn't "here's your t-shirt thanks for coming and the tapes are in the mail." You train with us year round. We assess you. A more intensive and specific manner to supplement your ongoing off season weight & conditioning programs. Those who participate will definitely have a competitive EDGE when summer work outs begin. This program is tailored to implement football specific and conditioning drills, group sessions and chalk talk sessions that address and benefit all Offensive and Defensive positions. The areas of the game that are covered in this program is the same information that every middle school, junior high and high school summer practices start off with every season giving you, your coaching staff and team a leg up on your opponents who sit idle during the off season.

"Schoolz Out" Youth Camp A Success!

The areas top youth football players came out in droves on President's Day to get a leg up on the upcoming football season. High School coaches from Nordonia, Hudson, NDCL, Chagrin Falls and VASJ joined the D1/Edge staff to lead an instructional camp for over 100 youth athletes grade 3-8.







After the instructional sessions, the campers were treated to a T-Shirt, pizza and an agility demonstration by local high school stand-outs Mike Hounshell (NDCL - to attend Lake Erie College), Alex Gedeon (Hudson - to attend Harvard), Randy Greenwood (Lake Catholic), Andre Laney (Twinsburg), Danny Goodrum (VASJ), Mike Niam (Hudson - to attend South Carolina) and John Hamilton (Nordonia). After their demo, the high school stars were joined in the drills by members of our "Junior Edge" football program. This was a great opportunity for these youngsters to meet a handful of the area high school players they look up to and admire.



This was the first of many similar events to be hosted by D1 Football and The Edge.

NDCL's Hounshell makes it official

NDCL senior Michael Hounshell received the paperwork Tuesday evening and come Wednesday morning his signature will make it official. He will accept a scholarship to Lake Erie College and take the first step toward his college football career with the Lake Erie Storm.

I spoke with Michael tonight and he's very excited and looking forward to this tremendous opportunity. He plans to have the paperwork completed before leaving for school on Wednesday morning.
